Occupational Health and Safety Engineering (OHSE) is one of the six departments of the School of Health. The department established in 1987 with the admission of associate’s degree students and has made significant steady progress since then. In 1996, the BSc degree in OHSE was launched. In recent years, in line with the macro policies of the Iran health ministry, the department followed the path of development and moving towards launching postgraduate courses. Accordingly, the MSc course were established in 2005.

Mission

The Kerman University of Medical Sciences Department of OHSE works to provide sustainable healthy and safe workplaces by:

• Providing outstanding education to OHSE students and working professionals.
• Discovering how the work environment affects workers’ health and safety.
• Performing academic and industry-supported researches to prevent and reduce work-related and work-induced injury and illness.
• Serving communities, workers and employers across Kerman province and south of Iran.
• Working in partnership to improve health and safety in workplaces locally, nationally and globally.
